All Things Great and Small

This is a pretty amazing website.  By toggling to the right or left, you can see the scale of the universe starting with tiny atoms, particles and the smallest units of measurement known to man.  As you slide to the right you can see the smallest things visible to the human eye, then the objects we see everyday.  Eventually we see the scale of our country and our planet relative to the universe. Wow!!!

This really puts life into perspective.  It gives an idea of just where our place is in the scale of God’s Creation. We are called to steward these things well.  I love the following poem:

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.

The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
God made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.

The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset, and the morning,
That brightens up the sky;

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
We gather every day;

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

What a great gift God has entrusted us with--the height and depth and breadth of His Creation.  He did all the hard work, creating and sustaining it all for our enjoyment.  What a perfect picture for us to use as we share His great name.
